Why I'm Joining #PSPfit
When CeCe (the plus size princess herself) e-mailed me asking to join her #PSPfit movement, my immediate reaction was "yes, yes, yes! Where do I sign up?" For so long, I've wanted to become more active. My eating habits are relatively healthy: I rarely drink soda, I've upped my veggie, fruit, and protein intake, and I drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. But, my activity is not where I'd like it to be. Most of my days are spent sitting in front of my macbook working on social media for small businesses. The more I work, the less time I make for myself, which leads to little or no time for exercise (we can all relate to that). I want to be active again. I want to take time out of my day to exercise, relieve stress, "find my center," and feel good.

Inside the Dressing Room: Wet Seal+ (Video)
Wet Seal recently opened Wet Seal+, a plus size fashion store, in Clovis, CA. I thought it would be fun to take you inside the dressing room as I tried on some of their pieces at last Friday's grand opening. I love filming these videos because you get a first-hand, intimate look at how readily-available plus size fashion fits a size 24 woman. So, let's go inside the Wet Seal+ room to see how their 3X clothing fit my body.

I wore the yellow heart print top and pleated skirt for Thanksgiving, partied on a downtown rooftop in the black dress with sparkly neckline, wore the red dress on a weekend getaway to Monterey, and rung in the new year with the sequin blazer. Rocker Chic
Where to begin with this outfit? I love it. I love it so much! It’s a little edgy, vibrant, and out of my norm. The dress is by Asos Curve via Gwynnie Bee, the monthly subscription clothing service for sizes 10 - 32. I wasn’t sure how I felt about this dress when I first received it in the mail. Animal print and I don’t have a close relationship. I know you’re all probably gasping for air right now, but it’s true. I’ve never been a big animal print person, but I figured I have nothing to lose by trying it on. Side note: That’s the beauty of Gwynnie Bee. If something doesn’t work, just ship it back (for free!) and receive another item days later.

I’m glad I gave the dress a chance because the red-orange is so perfect for fall. Instead of wearing it in my go-to romantic way, I topped it with a military green and faux leather sleeve jacket from Wet Seal+. I instantly felt like a badass as soon as I put it over the dress. I mean, how could you not when your outfit consists of military green, leather, animal print, and suede boots? That’s an equation for rocker chic.

Shine Bright like a Sequin
Nothing says the holidays like a glistening cardigan. So naturally I almost had a sequin-filled heart attack when IGIGI by Yuliya Raquel sent me the new Veronetta Cardigan in Oro. It is one of the shiniest, sparkliest, and most beautiful cardigans I’ve ever seen and worn. It perfectly draped over my curves and paired so nicely with an all black ensemble and pop of red lipstick.
The possibilities with this cardi are endless. I'm thinking about wearing it again for Christmas Eve over a LBD and black flats. It would look great over a champagne top, too. Ahhh, decisions, decisions. How would you wear it? Share in a comment or tweet me @amanda_allison and @igigi!

Big Girl Love Stories
Happy new year! I couldn't think of a better way to start 2014 on my blog than with a video featuring CeCe from Plus Size Princess. We hung out over the weekend after years of tweets, emails, and reading each other's blogs. We shopped (I took her to Wet Seal+ and she went crazy, in a good way), had dinner and drinks, then filmed a couple videos at my place.

Date Night: A Tale of Love and Plus Size Fashion
Hi! I wanted to have some fun in filming my first OOTD of the new year. This one was shot a little differently to give you a vibe of our date with little peeks of my outfit. The jacket is from Asos Curve (purchased two years ago); it's one of my favorite pieces to wear this time of year. Finding Confidence in a Crop Top
Here I am just before I began cleaning house in a makeshift crop top and leggings. Had you asked me six+ years ago to wear a crop top, I would've shut you down immediately. Now, after blogging, YouTube, and adventures in self acceptance, self love, and body positivity, I will happily AND comfortably wear whatever the hell I please.
Loving yourself, mind and body, is one of the moment rewarding things you can do in life. It isn't easy. It's a journey filled with peaks and valleys, but it's one worth taking. You know what else is worth doing? Wearing a crop top. These things are so fun! *prances around house, showing belly* I wish I would have worn one sooner.
